Patna, June 5 (NationPress) A devastating road incident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving four others seriously injured after a car collided with a truck near Gohiya Sabzi Mandi on National Highway-22 in the Vaishali district of Bihar.
The collision took place around 3 a.m. when the car, which was returning from a wedding, lost control and struck the truck from behind.
The SHO of Goraul Police Station confirmed that all six individuals involved were swiftly transported to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur for medical attention, but unfortunately, two of them succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Manohar Kumar (40), son of Yogendra Shah, a resident of Gohiya village, and Saroj Patel (42), son of Baijnath Patel, hailing from Khidkhaua village under Bhagwanpur Police Station.
Family members reported that the wedding party had departed from Gohiya heading towards Muzaffarpur on Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and the tragedy struck during their return journey in the early hours.
“Upon learning of the accident, we rushed to the scene and rescued all the individuals trapped in the car. The deceased were in the front seats while the injured occupied the back,” stated the SHO.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Initial assessments indicate that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle while navigating the highway section near the market area.
“We have performed post-mortem examinations on the deceased and returned their bodies to the families. The condition of the injured remains critical,” the SHO added.
“An FIR has been filed against the truck driver who parked the vehicle illegally on the busy highway. He is currently at large,” the SHO confirmed.
