Fatal Collision Between Car and Truck Claims Two Lives in Chhapra, Bihar

Patna, Dec 13 (NationPress) Tragically, two individuals lost their lives and two others sustained severe injuries when their vehicle collided with a truck in Bihar’s Chhapra, police officials reported on Friday.

Among the injured is Dr Amitesh Kumar, who oversees a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Siwan.

The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Daudpur police station when the car, traveling from Chhapra to Siwan, collided head-on with a truck heading from the opposite direction.

The force of the impact was such that the driver and the security personnel seated in the front perished instantly. Dr Amitesh Kumar along with another passenger suffered critical injuries in the mishap.

All injured parties were initially rushed to Chhapra Sadar Hospital. Due to the critical condition of Dr Amitesh Kumar and another victim, they have been referred to Patna for advanced medical care.

The in-charge of Daudpur police station, Navlesh Kumar, confirmed the incident, stating, “It happened during the night and an investigation is currently in progress. Two people lost their lives. Local witnesses reported that the collision was severe.”

“We have filed an FIR against the truck driver under the relevant sections pertaining to rash and negligent driving, and we are investigating to locate the driver responsible for this tragedy. The accident occurred on Thursday night around 10 p.m.,” Navlesh Kumar added.

Just four days earlier, another similar incident took place in Saran district, resulting in the deaths of two people and serious injuries to two others near Dudhaila under the Sonpur police station on December 9.

This earlier accident occurred when a new car struck a stationary truck. The deceased were identified as Aman Kumar, son of Laxman Bhagat from village Kasmar under Sonepur police station, and Jitu Kumar, son of Shio Sah from the same village.

The injured individuals, Alok and Ritesh, were transported to Patna Medical College Hospital for treatment following initial first aid at Sonepur PHC.
