Raipur, Feb 21 (NationPress) On Saturday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) released the conclusive electoral roll for Chhattisgarh, bringing the total number of registered voters in the state to 1,87,30,914, which includes a net increase of 2,34,994 new voters.

This release followed the conclusion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise carried out throughout the state over the last four months, which involved a thorough verification of every voter listed in the previous electoral roll.

According to an official press release from the ECI, “After the four-month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the final publication was completed on February 21, 2026, with a total of 1,87,30,914 voters registered.”

The SIR initiative in Chhattisgarh began on October 27, 2025, and lasted for four months across the state. During this time, 27,196 appointed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducted door-to-door visits to distribute enumeration forms and finalize the verification of voter records, as stated by the Commission.

The press release further mentioned that claims and objections related to the inclusion, removal, and correction of names were accepted from December 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026, with all such claims and objections resolved by February 14, 2026.

The Commission also noted that the latest electoral rolls have been published along with photographs collected from voters during the SIR exercise to ensure both accuracy and transparency.

According to the final electoral data from the ECI, Surguja district has 6,02,310 voters, marking a net increase of 3,813 voters (0.64%). Bilaspur district has 13,41,254 voters, with an increase of 29,031 voters (2.21%).

Raigarh district has 8,42,695 voters, witnessing an addition of 9,014 voters (1.08%), while Rajnandgaon district has 7,92,482 voters, with an increase of 12,277 voters (1.57%). Durg district boasts 11,35,061 voters, with an addition of 30,913 voters (2.80%), and Raipur district has 13,93,967 voters, with a net increase of 521 voters (0.04%).

The press note indicated that the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Chhattisgarh, Yashwant Kumar, expressed gratitude to the citizens of the state for their remarkable support during the revision exercise.

To ensure the timely completion of the Special Intensive Revision, a team comprising 33 District Election Officers, 90 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 1,990 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 27,196 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and 38,846 Booth Level Agents (BLAs), alongside multiple volunteers, was mobilized across the state.
