New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced remarkable advancements in Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), indicating that numerous states and Union Territories have accomplished nearly complete distribution and digitization of Elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs).
This update was disclosed in the Commission’s daily bulletin published on Tuesday.
The enumeration phase for this ongoing revision commenced on November 4 and is set to conclude on December 11.
The bulletin reveals that a total of 50.95 crore EFs have been distributed, achieving a coverage of 99.97 percent for electors across the 12 states and Union Territories reporting.
Digitization is also progressing well, with 50.58 crore forms digitized, marking a completion rate of 99.18 percent.
Among the top performers are Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Gujarat, and Goa, all achieving 100 percent distribution.
West Bengal has reported a distribution of 99.99 percent, while Rajasthan stands at 99.58 percent.
Lakshadweep and Madhya Pradesh have also recorded a complete digitization rate, while the Andaman & Nicobar Islands have achieved 99.99 percent digitization of forms.
With over 7.66 crore electors, West Bengal has attained distribution and digitization rates of 99.99 percent and 99.75 percent, respectively. In Rajasthan, where the revision for Anta Assembly Constituency started late due to a by-election, the figures stand at 99.58 percent for distribution and 99.59 percent for digitization.
Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh have achieved distribution rates of 99.95 percent and 99.97 percent, respectively, while their digitization rates are 99.55 percent and 98.14 percent.
Kerala, where the final date for form submissions is December 18, has reported a distribution of 99.75 percent and 98.04 percent digitization.
The ECI has pointed out that the digitized data encompasses electors identified as absent, relocated, deceased, or duplicate entries.
The Commission has also called upon recognized political parties to appoint additional Booth Level Agents to enhance field verification.
