New Delhi, Nov 14 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has made significant progress in Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, distributing 46.50 crore Enumeration Forms (EFs) to voters across 12 states and union territories as of November 12, as reported by the poll panel on Friday.

According to the latest bulletin from the ECI, a total of 50.97 crore EFs were printed, achieving a completion rate of 99.95 percent, with 91.20 percent (46.50 crore) already distributed.

The current Enumeration Phase is ongoing from November 4 to December 4.

In both Goa and Lakshadweep, the distribution reached 100 percent.

Additionally, states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan have also achieved near-total coverage, demonstrating effective coordination at the ground level.

Lakshadweep and Goa reported full completion in both printing and distribution, while Puducherry achieved 93.63 percent, Andaman and Nicobar reached 96.86 percent, Gujarat distributed over 4.95 crore forms (97.38 percent), and Tamil Nadu distributed 5.62 crore forms (87.66 percent). Chhattisgarh managed to distribute 1.87 crore forms (88.18 percent) and others.

Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India, distributed 13.74 crore forms, covering approximately 89.01 percent of its electorate.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan recorded coverage rates of 93.3 percent and 95.11 percent, respectively.

Poll-bound West Bengal reported distribution of over 7.40 crore forms, achieving a total coverage of 96.66 percent.

To ensure that every eligible elector is reached, more than 5.33 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 10.41 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) have been deployed.

The ECI has requested all recognized political parties to appoint additional BLAs to enhance field-level verification and improve the accuracy of electoral rolls.

Notably, in a press note from the ECI on Thursday, it was stated that over 42 crore Enumeration Forms (EFs) had been distributed to electors across 12 states and union territories as of November 13.

A total of 50.95 crore EFs were printed, achieving 99.91 percent completion, with 82.71 percent (42.18 crore) already distributed.
