New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Monday that an impressive total of 50.11 crore (98.32 percent) elector-specific Enumeration Forms have been successfully distributed across 12 States and Union Territories as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II of electoral rolls.

According to a Daily Bulletin, the ECI confirmed that all participating States and UTs have achieved 100 percent printing of elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs), with the overall distribution surpassing 98.32 percent.

The ECI reported that the states have distributed a total of 50,11,75,907 EFs, and the digitization process for 4,42,64,069 EFs has been completed. Notably, Goa and Lakshadweep have achieved complete EF distribution.

As of October 27, the bulletin indicated there were 50,97,44,423 electors in these 12 states.

The SIR Phase II, running from November 4 to December 4, focuses on door-to-door verification and updating of voter details through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs), who are appointed by recognized political parties.

The participating States and UTs in SIR Phase II include Goa, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Puducherry, Kerala, and Chhattisgarh.

Among the larger states, Uttar Pradesh reported the distribution of 15.27 crore printed EFs (98.90 percent), while Madhya Pradesh distributed 5.71 crore EFs (99.63 percent).

West Bengal has achieved the distribution of 7.63 crore EFs (99.56 percent), as confirmed in the bulletin.

However, some States and UTs, such as Kerala (95.68 percent), Tamil Nadu (94.31 percent), and Puducherry (94.35 percent), reported slightly lower EF distribution percentages.

The bulletin further emphasized that all recognized political parties have been encouraged to appoint additional Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to promote transparency during household verification, especially in high-density constituencies.

The Commission highlighted that the mobilization of 5.33 lakh BLOs and 10.41 lakh BLAs demonstrates its dedication to keeping electoral rolls current ahead of forthcoming elections in several States.

With less than three weeks remaining in the enumeration period, the ECI aims to expedite efforts in lagging regions to ensure a comprehensive update of the final electoral rolls.
