New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has unveiled remarkable advancements in Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), indicating that nine states and Union Territories have successfully reached 100% distribution, while eight have accomplished full digitisation of Elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs) among the 12 evaluated.
This update was provided in the Commission's daily bulletin released on Thursday.
The enumeration phase for the ongoing revision commenced on November 4 and is set to conclude on December 11 for Goa, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.
Per the latest information from the ECI, the enumeration process in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat will be finalized by December 14. Meanwhile, for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the enumeration will persist until December 18, and for Uttar Pradesh, the enumeration period has been prolonged until December 26.
The bulletin highlights that a total of 50.97 crore EFs have already been distributed, achieving a near-total coverage of 99.9% among the electors in the 12 reporting states and Union Territories.
The digitisation process has also advanced significantly, with 50.88 crore forms digitised, reflecting a completion rate of 99.78%.
The top-performing regions achieving 100% distribution include Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Gujarat, Goa, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
Regions like Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, and Puducherry have also achieved 100% digitisation.
West Bengal, with over 7.66 crore electors, has reached a digitisation rate of 99.96%.
Rajasthan, where the revision in Anta Assembly Constituency commenced late due to a by-election, has recorded 99.6% distribution and 99.64% digitisation.
Uttar Pradesh and Kerala have reported distribution figures of 99.9% and 98.92%, respectively.
It is noteworthy that for Kerala, the deadline for submitting forms is December 18.
The ECI has clarified that the total count of digitised EFs encompasses electors categorized as Absent, Shifted, Deceased, or those with multiple listings.
In addition, the Commission has urged recognized political parties to designate further Booth Level Agents to enhance field verification.
