New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) published its daily update on December 5 regarding Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, showcasing significant advancements in the distribution and digitisation of Elector-specific enumeration forms (EFs) across 12 States and Union Territories.
The enumeration phase commenced on November 4 and is set to continue until December 11.
As highlighted in the bulletin, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Goa have achieved complete distribution of EFs, each reaching 100 percent coverage.
Moreover, Lakshadweep has digitised all 57,813 forms, achieving 100 percent digitisation, while Rajasthan has digitised 5,46,50,355 forms out of 5,46,56,215, resulting in 99.99 percent completion.
Goa has successfully digitised 11,80,138 forms, accounting for 99.59 percent of its total.
Among larger States, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh have distributed 99.97 percent of forms. Notably, West Bengal has digitised 7,60,44,145 forms (99.23 percent), while Chhattisgarh has digitised 2,10,66,785 forms (also 99.23 percent).
Madhya Pradesh has distributed 99.97 percent of its forms and completed the digitisation of 5,68,21,633 forms, which is 98.98 percent.
Tamil Nadu, with an electorate of over 6.41 crore, reported 99.81 percent distribution and 98.23 percent digitisation.
Gujarat noted 99.92 percent distribution and 96.60 percent digitisation, while Kerala achieved 99.49 percent distribution and 95.27 percent digitisation.
Uttar Pradesh, the State with the highest number of electors exceeding 15.44 crore, has distributed 99.91 percent of forms and digitised 14,20,43,814 forms, reflecting 91.98 percent progress, which is the lowest among major States.
In total, across all 12 States and Union Territories, 50,92,54,353 forms have been distributed, representing 99.90 percent coverage, while 49,18,10,732 forms have been digitised, indicating 96.48 percent completion.
The ECI mentioned that the figures for Rajasthan do not include the 193-Anta Assembly Constituency, where the revision process was postponed due to a by-election.
Enumeration in Anta is set to commence on December 8. The Commission has also called upon recognised political parties to appoint additional Booth Level Agents to aid in this process.
