New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced remarkable advancements in Phase II of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The data reveals that seven states and Union Territories have accomplished 100% distribution, while four have successfully completed the digitisation of Elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs) out of the twelve assessed.
This update was disseminated in the Commission's daily bulletin published on Wednesday.
The enumeration phase for this ongoing revision commenced on November 4 and is set to conclude on December 11.
As per the bulletin, a total of 50.96 crore EFs have been distributed, achieving 99.98% coverage of electors across the twelve reporting states and Union Territories.
Digitisation has progressed as well, with 50.76 crore forms digitised, indicating a 99.59% completion.
The states showing exemplary performance include Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Gujarat, and Goa, each achieving 100% distribution.
Additionally, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have recorded 99.99% distribution, while Rajasthan stands at 99.58%.
In terms of digitisation, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Puducherry have reached 100% digitisation, while Chhattisgarh and Gujarat have digitised 99.99% of their forms.
West Bengal, with over 7.66 crore electors, has achieved 99.86% digitisation.
In Rajasthan, where the revision in the Anta Assembly Constituency began later due to a by-election, 99.58% distribution and 99.59% digitisation have been realized.
Uttar Pradesh and Kerala have reported distribution rates of 99.98% and 99.81%, respectively.
However, digitisation rates in these states are at 99% for Uttar Pradesh and 98.52% for Kerala.
It is important to note that for Kerala, the final date for form submissions is December 18.
The ECI has highlighted that the digitised data encompasses electors marked as absent, relocated, deceased, or as duplicates.
The Commission has also encouraged recognised political parties to appoint additional Booth Level Agents to bolster field verification.
