Sirhind (Punjab), Oct 18 (NationPress) A fire erupted in a coach of train number 12204 Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express on Saturday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to officials.
The alarming incident occurred at Sirhind Station in Punjab, a part of the Northern Railway zone.
As soon as the alarm was raised, railway personnel, along with the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local law enforcement, quickly arrived at the scene, officials mentioned.
Firefighters successfully contained the blaze after approximately an hour.
Railway authorities confirmed that the fire was detected around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials acted swiftly, relocating passengers to other coaches and extinguishing the flames before they could escalate.
