Bhopal, April 8 (NationPress) Five individuals, including three women, tragically lost their lives in two separate road incidents in Madhya Pradesh.

In the Sheopur district, a tragic event transpired when a tractor-trolley carrying 10 villagers overturned on the Sansuwada-Awada road at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The villagers were en route to a temple in Karahal when the accident resulted in the deaths of three people: Savitri (36), Guddi (45), and Ashu (6), all from Tongra village. Seven others were injured, with four receiving treatment in Karahal and three in Kelwada, located in neighboring Rajasthan. Police have initiated a case against the driver.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his sorrow on social media, stating, "The sudden loss of two women and a child in this heartbreaking accident is devastating. We stand with the grieving families in this challenging time."

He announced financial support of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for each injured individual from the Chief Minister's Vishvagyanudan fund. Furthermore, the district administration has been directed to ensure proper medical care for those impacted.

In another tragic incident near Patharouta in Itarsi, Narmadapuram district, a passenger bus traveling from the Ordnance Factory to Itarsi lost control and overturned, leading to the deaths of passenger Najma Khatun and conductor Narendra Singh Chauhan. Thirteen others were injured in this incident. Police investigations indicated that a defective leaf spring, known locally as 'Kamani,' caused the steering mechanism to malfunction, resulting in the driver losing control. In an effort to regain stability, the vehicle tragically flipped over.

Sanjeev Pawar, Station In-Charge of Patharouta, confirmed that a case has been lodged against the bus owner for negligent maintenance under sections 304 (a) and 106 of the IPC. Most injured passengers were discharged after initial treatment, while one individual remains hospitalized with a leg fracture. These dual tragedies have left a deep sense of grief across the state as residents and authorities confront the repercussions of these sorrowful occurrences.

Immediate measures to enhance road safety and enforce stricter vehicle maintenance protocols are essential to avert such incidents in the future.
