Officials from various northeastern states indicated that of the 44 fatalities recorded since the onset of rain and flooding on May 29, at least 17 occurred in Assam, 12 in Arunachal Pradesh, six in Meghalaya, five in Mizoram, two in Tripura, and one each in Nagaland and Manipur.

Disaster management officials from the seven affected northeastern states, excluding Sikkim, reported that the fatalities resulted from drowning, landslides, waterlogging, and other calamity-related incidents.

In Assam, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) indicated that over 6.33 lakh individuals were impacted by the floods and rains across 21 districts. The ASDMA also noted that approximately 14,739 hectares of agricultural land were affected in 1506 villages within these districts. The mighty Brahmaputra and six other rivers are currently flowing above the danger mark in several areas of Assam.

In Arunachal Pradesh, more than 1,000 residents are now grappling with flood conditions in 156 villages across 23 of the state's 26 districts. A disaster management official highlighted significant destruction in Lower Subansiri district, where approximately 170 houses were damaged, alongside numerous infrastructure losses, including over 50 roads, 16 power lines, 25 water supply lines, and two schools.

Widespread devastation has also been reported in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) and Pakke Kessang, where crucial assets such as ICR's primary water pipeline and the road at Dariya Hill sustained severe damage.

In Mizoram, five fatalities were reported due to landslides, building collapses, and other disaster-related incidents caused by heavy rain over the past ten days. Officials from the state’s disaster management and rehabilitation department confirmed that three Myanmar refugees lost their lives in Champhai district, with one each in Aizawl and Serchhip districts due to structural failures caused by landslides and flash floods.

In the last ten days, the mountainous region experienced 552 landslides across various districts, while 152 houses were either damaged or collapsed due to the rains. More than 300 families have either vacated their homes due to landslides or were evacuated by authorities in light of the ongoing crises.
