Bhopal, April 18 (NationPress) Narendra Yadav also known as N. John Camm has been incarcerated until May 1.
Following the conclusion of his police remand, authorities presented Narendra Yadav in a court located in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh, which mandated his judicial custody until May 1.
Yadav is embroiled in a significant legal and medical scandal.
He faces allegations of performing cardiac surgeries on numerous patients, with seven of them unfortunately dying under questionable circumstances; he had been under police custody for the past month.
In a statement to IANS, his attorney, Sachin Nayak, revealed that Yadav intends to submit a bail request in the Sessions court on Monday, as police inquiries have concluded.
As per Nayak, the doctor suffered from high blood pressure on Thursday night and was briefly hospitalized at the Damoh district hospital for treatment before being returned to jail.
Sources from the police indicated that Yadav did not reveal any medical issues or medications aside from his blood pressure concern.
A viral video documenting his hospital visit has drawn additional attention to the case.
The lawyer for Yadav sought permission for him to access his mobile phone and to appear in court via video link.
However, the public prosecutor opposed these requests, contending that the phone was undergoing forensic examination as part of the inquiry, and only the court could determine the mode of his appearance according to prison regulations.
Yadav later claimed in media interactions that he is innocent, asserting that his credentials align with all necessary regulations, mentioning that his family resides abroad.
He also expressed complete trust in the judicial process.
The scandal has intensified with severe ramifications.
The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Damoh, Mukesh Jain, has suspended the license of Mission Hospital and sealed its Cath Lab, where Yadav was employed.
Following a midnight complaint on April 6 from the CMHO, the police initiated legal proceedings against him, alleging that Yadav lacked the essential qualifications for the surgeries he conducted.
Last Wednesday, a team of medical professionals and government officials revoked the hospital's license and sealed its remaining facilities.
Yadav, believed to have performed 15 surgeries, with seven resulting in suspicious fatalities, remains under investigation.
Allegations of impersonation have further exacerbated the situation, with claims that he adopted the alias N. John Camm to masquerade as a European cardiologist.
