Bhopal, April 7 (NationPress) The authorities have initiated a legal inquiry into a physician accused of performing several cardiac surgeries, some of which allegedly led to suspicious fatalities.
Late on Sunday night, an official complaint was lodged by Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Mukesh Jain against the physician, known as Narendra Yadav, who also gained notoriety in Damoh district as Dr. N. John Camm.
The police registered an FIR under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS), including sections 318, 338, 336, and 341(1), along with section 24 of the MP Medical Council Act, 1987, confirmed a senior police official speaking to IANS.
Dr. Jain made a personal visit to the police station around midnight on Sunday to file a formal complaint alleging fraudulent activities by Dr. Yadav, the police officer stated.
The complaint asserts that Dr. Yadav purportedly conducted angiography and angioplasty procedures at a private facility, despite lacking registration with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council, which is a legal requirement for practicing medicine in the state.
Initial investigations revealed discrepancies in the doctor’s registration documents, which seem dubious upon preliminary examination. Moreover, the hospital where the surgeries were carried out has not provided any documentation to authenticate his qualifications, Dr. Jain mentioned in his complaint and report.
It has been reported that Dr. Yadav, also known as N. John Camm, has performed 15 cardiac surgeries, of which seven patients have unfortunately passed away.
The issue was escalated to the Superintendent of Police in Damoh, advocating for action in line with legal procedures. On Sunday night, the police initiated a case against Dr. Yadav and others based on the evidence presented in Dr. Jain’s report and application, citing multiple legal violations under the specified sections.
Investigative activities are currently ongoing.
In the meantime, the National Human Rights Commission has allegedly dispatched a team to Damoh to investigate the claims. Previous allegations suggest that his actual name is “Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav”, and he falsely asserted having received professional training in London. A complaint to the Human Rights Commission alleged that he impersonated the identity of renowned UK-based cardiologist Professor John Camm to mislead patients and enhance his credibility.
