Bhopal, April 10 (NationPress) The controversy surrounding Dr. Narendra Yadav, who fraudulently assumed the identity of N. John Camm and conducted deadly heart surgeries on fifteen unsuspecting patients, escalated dramatically as district health officials sealed the cath lab at Mission Hospital located in Rai Chaouraha, Damoh district on Thursday.

Dr. Yadav, operating under the false name of N.J. Camm, reportedly did not possess the necessary qualifications to carry out any heart-related medical procedures.

An official document dated April 9 (a copy of which is with IANS) indicated that the hospital's cath lab was removed from the Ayushman Bharat Niramayam, MP Portal due to the lack of a qualified physician to oversee its operations.

Further investigations conducted by the Damoh district health officer confirmed that there was no medical professional qualified to manage the facility, and even Dr. Akhilesh Dube declined to continue overseeing the cath lab, necessitating its closure.

On Thursday evening, a team of five officials visited the hospital around 4.30 p.m..

The team included doctors from the district hospital—Dr. Prahlad Patel, Dr. Vikrant Chauhan, Dr. Rajesh Namdev, Dr. Prashant Soni—along with Naib Tehsildar Raghunandan Chaturvedi, who facilitated the sealing of the cath lab.

A senior government official informed IANS that the sealing process was executed in accordance with legal protocols and formalized in the presence of Dr. Chauhan and Dr. Namdev.

This case has attracted the attention of the National Human Rights Commission, state police, and district health authorities, who are now probing the deaths of seven patients under suspicious circumstances following the surgeries conducted by Dr. Yadav, a.k.a. Camm.

Additionally, the hospital's blood bank is facing scrutiny, with officials hinting at potential actions.

A manager at the hospital protested the sealing of the cath lab, arguing that inadequate temperature control could harm the sensitive equipment inside.

Despite this objection, the lab was officially declared sealed as of April 10.

As for Dr. Narendra Yadav, who is currently in police custody, authorities have not reported any new statements from him. Investigators are preparing to impose strict penalties on Mission Hospital, signaling further troubles for the institution ahead.
