Ghaziabad, March 28 (NationPress) Tragically, three workers have lost their lives, and six others have been injured due to a boiler explosion at a textile factory located in Dateri village, under the jurisdiction of Bhojpur police station in Ghaziabad, on Friday.
This devastating incident, which took place around 5 a.m., has raised alarming questions regarding factory safety protocols.
Upon receiving the notification, police quickly arrived at the scene and commenced an investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion. The bodies of the deceased have been dispatched for post-mortem, while the injured individuals were promptly taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
The victims have been identified as Yogendra from Modinagar, Anuj from Bhojpur, and Awadhesh from Jewar. Following the explosion, a sense of panic engulfed the factory, prompting authorities to initiate a thorough probe into the incident.
At the time of the explosion, workers were engaged in their routine tasks when the boiler unexpectedly erupted, trapping those in close proximity. The factory in question specializes in the production of cardboard rolls. The explosion resulted in chaos as employees hurried to escape to safety.
In an interview with IANS, Anuj's brother, Sachin Kumar, accused the factory of disregarding safety regulations.
"Work is conducted illegally in this factory, with no safety measures in place. My brother has been employed here for three years, and today this tragedy occurred! We demand strict action against the factory owner," he stated.
Another worker, Lucky, recounted his experience during the incident, saying, "The furnace was operational, and excessive heat began to accumulate in the compressor, but no one noticed. Safety was severely lacking. The accident was a result of negligence."
The injured workers were transported to the hospital via ambulances, where they are currently receiving care.
