Patna, April 22 (NationPress) Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh has fiercely criticized RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, claiming he aims to convert Bihar into West Bengal, citing what he describes as a worsening law and order situation under West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

During a seminar and recognition event celebrating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti at Kali Mandir in Telghi village, located in the Kharik block of Bhagalpur’s Navgachiya subdivision, Giriraj Singh stated: “Mamata Banerjee has transformed West Bengal into Bangladesh, and Lalu Prasad Yadav wishes to do the same in Bihar. However, we will thwart his ambitions.”

His statements were made amid escalating political strife and his persistent critique of the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, particularly regarding alleged violence and lawlessness.

Giriraj Singh added, “The nation is observing the situation in West Bengal. The populace will respond appropriately to Mamata Banerjee.”

BJP leaders are targeting Mamata Banerjee for her refusal to implement the Waqf (Amendment) Bill which has been passed by both Houses of Parliament and sanctioned by the President.

Conversely, leaders from the Trinamool party accuse the BJP of provoking the violence in West Bengal.

On Monday, Trinamool MP Shatrughan Sinha remarked that the recent events in Murshidabad were part of a calculated conspiracy. He attributed blame to factions within the ruling party (BJP) for inciting communal discord.

“It is extremely regrettable, very distressing. I would say it has been intentionally made painful. This constitutes a conspiracy, a meticulously planned scheme, particularly by some of our acquaintances from the ruling party. They are attempting to divide Hindu and Muslim families—it’s not merely unfortunate; it’s disgraceful,” Sinha expressed.

Meanwhile, when questioned about Godda MP Nishikant Dubey’s recent controversial statements regarding the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India, Giriraj Singh opted not to comment.
