New Delhi, March 25 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh has fiercely criticized AIMIM leader, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Wednesday, claiming that he presents contrasting personas within and outside of Parliament.

In an interview with IANS, Singh remarked, "Owaisi possesses two faces. In Parliament, he adheres to the Constitution and legal principles. However, outside of Parliament, his rhetoric revolves around historical figures such as Akbar and Babur, questioning the timeline for the implementation of Sharia laws in India."

This critique emerges in the wake of new political developments linked to the AIMIM. Owaisi has recently declared that his party will participate in the forthcoming West Bengal Assembly elections in partnership with Humayun Kabir’s Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP).

This strategic alliance is perceived as a crucial effort to unify minority political groups in the region. Kabir, a former MLA from the Trinamool Congress, has gained recognition in central Bengal, particularly in the Murshidabad district. He established the AJUP in December 2025 after being expelled from the Trinamool Congress.

Addressing supporters at his party's headquarters, Darussalam, in Hyderabad, Owaisi also criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of injustice against Bengali Muslims. He alleged that her administration had annulled at least five lakh OBC certificates.

The AIMIM chief’s declaration indicates a possible transformation in West Bengal’s political scene ahead of the Assembly elections, with new coalitions set to shape electoral dynamics in regions with significant minority populations.

In the meantime, Giriraj Singh expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, "The Prime Minister has tweeted that the world looks to India with optimism, as numerous global leaders encounter challenges. The world's confidence lies with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is diligently fulfilling his responsibilities, addressing both national and global situations earnestly. This contrasts with the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), who is merely sowing confusion."

Point of View

Giriraj Singh's comments highlight ongoing tensions within Indian politics, particularly regarding minority representation and the integrity of political discourse. Owaisi's dual approach raises questions about authenticity in political leadership as new alliances form ahead of critical elections.
