Giriraj Singh Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Parliament Speech, Calling His Grandmother a 'Dictator'

New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday criticized the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi regarding his remarks on the Constitution, stating that his grandmother Indira Gandhi was labeled a 'dictator', yet her grandson is now offering advice to others.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan also condemned the Congress leader, asserting that the Gandhi family has always focused on reaping the benefits of political power.
“It’s perplexing that he (Rahul Gandhi) leads a party that held power for the majority of the time since independence, yet he makes such promises now. What were you doing all these years? Even a decade ago, you were in government; that was the time for a caste census. Their rhetoric shifts when they find themselves in the opposition,” Paswan remarked.
“He (Rahul Gandhi) and his family have solely relished the entitlements of power,” he continued.
During his speech in Parliament on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi criticized the Central government, accusing it of “cutting off” youth opportunities by “handing over” various sectors to industrialists.
In a discussion marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, the Lok Sabha LoP referred to an earlier address where he compared the current political scenario to a battle reminiscent of the Mahabharata, claiming that the Opposition is safeguarding the Constitution's principles.
“In my initial speech, I spoke of a battle, likening it to the Mahabharata and Kurukshetra. There’s a conflict in India today. On this side (the Opposition) are the guardians of the Constitution's ideals. From each state, we represent those who upheld these values: in Tamil Nadu, we have Periyar; in Karnataka, Basavanna; in Maharashtra, Phule ji and Ambedkar ji; and in Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi. You (the ruling party) praise these figures with reluctance because you must, yet the reality is that you desire India to be governed as it once was,” Gandhi articulated in the Lok Sabha.
He reaffirmed his commitment to a caste census, asserting that it would result in “a new kind of development” for India.
“We aim to assure every impoverished individual: you are safeguarded by the Constitution. The BJP relentlessly attacks the Constitution, 24/7. I assured in the House that we would implement a caste census.”
A transformative development will unfold in India thereafter,” Gandhi declared.
Rahul Gandhi also pledged to eliminate the 50 percent limit on reservations.
The Winter session of Parliament commenced on November 25, with early adjournments in both Houses due to disruptions. The session is set to run until December 20.
