God is for All: AAP Rejects 'Hindu Card' Allegations

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar, on Thursday, rejected the allegations of exploiting the 'Hindu card' and articulated that God is for everyone and that religion should not be a tool for political advantage.

Kakkar's remarks came in response to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's assertion that certain members of the BJP's Pandit Prakoshth had joined the party's Sanatan Sewa Samiti.

In an interview with IANS, Kakkar addressed the issue, stating, "God is for everyone, and politics should not interfere with this belief. If sadhus and saints are aligning with AAP due to their discontent with the BJP, it’s because the BJP has deceived them with false promises and has not delivered on its commitments. We wholeheartedly welcome them into our Sanatan Seva Samiti and appreciate their backing."

The controversy flared up alongside the introduction of a new AAP initiative that proposes a monthly stipend of Rs 18,000 for Hindu and Sikh priests, igniting a vigorous debate within political circles.

Kakkar also countered the BJP's provocative poster stating, "Saaf hogi hawa, kyunki aa rahi BJP," asserting that the party has no definitive agenda or vision for Delhi.

"They lack a narrative, and there is no clear Chief Minister candidate. They need to clarify against whom Arvind Kejriwal is competing," Kakkar asserted.

The political skirmish intensified further with the ongoing contention regarding Arvind Kejriwal’s previous official residence, referred to as 'Sheesh Mahal' by opposition parties.

Kakkar challenged the BJP's claims about extravagant features in the residence, including a golden toilet, swimming pool, and mini-bar.

"If such amenities were real, why is the media prohibited from viewing it? Why is access denied to the media and AAP representatives? The BJP’s allegations are unfounded," she stated.

Kakkar also suggested that the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commonly known as 'Raj Mahal,' ought to be examined for its expenses.

Kakkar expressed her appreciation for the support from the Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party in the approaching Delhi Assembly elections.

"In Delhi, the competition is straightforward: AAP versus BJP. Although the BJP has formed alliances with minor parties, Arvind Kejriwal retains the backing of the people of Delhi and the grace of God," she concluded.

With the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, the Election Commission has confirmed that over 1.55 crore voters will participate across 70 constituencies, including 12 designated for specific communities. The ballot counting will occur on February 8, as the political atmosphere in Delhi heats up ahead of this pivotal election.
