New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) The Government has expedited 17 major infrastructure projects with an investment totaling Rs 14,096 crore across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.

A high-level meeting led by Amardeep Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), addressed 19 key issues related to these initiatives, focusing on accelerating the resolution of implementation challenges via enhanced inter-ministerial and inter-state collaboration, as per an official announcement made on Wednesday.

This review meeting, organized under the Project Monitoring Group (PMG), saw the participation of senior officials from Central ministries, state governments, and project stakeholders.

One of the significant projects discussed was the four-laning of the Jaunpur-Akbarpur road project, estimated at Rs 3,164.72 crore. This project encompasses two critical issues spread across two work packages and is vital for enhancing regional connectivity and road infrastructure.

The meeting also highlighted the establishment of new ESI Hospitals at various strategic locations. These endeavors are part of the Government's extensive strategy to bolster healthcare infrastructure, especially in underserved and high-demand areas. Bhatia emphasized that these hospitals will greatly enhance access to quality medical services and foster regional growth, ultimately benefiting the workforce and their families.

Another pivotal project under review was the construction of the permanent campus for NIT Uttarakhand in Sumari, located in Pauri Garhwal district. This initiative aims to enrich the region's educational framework by providing a state-of-the-art academic and administrative setting for the institute. Once operational, it is anticipated to elevate the standards of technical education and research in Uttarakhand and stimulate local socio-economic progress.

Bhatia reiterated the Government's dedication to strengthening the institutional framework for project oversight and urged all parties involved to adopt a proactive stance towards resolving issues. He encouraged private sector participants to actively utilize the PMG platform (https://pmg.dpiit.gov.in/) to accelerate project execution by leveraging streamlined cooperation with the government and other essential entities, the statement concluded.
