Udaipur, Jan 19 (NationPress) The two-day National Chintan Shivir (Introspection Camp) initiated by the Union Ministry of Food Processing and Industries commenced at a hotel in Udaipur on Monday, featuring extensive discussions aimed at reinforcing India's food processing framework.
The deliberations concentrated on enhancing farmers' income, minimizing post-harvest losses, and fostering value addition while generating new job prospects for youth and women.
During the event, Union Minister for Food Processing and Industries Chirag Paswan emphasized the Central government's goal of cultivating a modern, competitive, and inclusive food processing industry, which is crucial for India's economic advancement.
He remarked that the food processing sector acts as a vital link connecting farmers to markets, enabling better prices for agricultural products while bolstering the rural economy.
Chirag Paswan further stated that the Central government is persistently striving to draw investments into the food processing domain and stimulate innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
He expressed optimism that initiatives like the Chintan Shivir would lay a robust groundwork for policy formulation, positioning India as a worldwide hub for food processing.
The gathering included Ministry Secretary Abhinav Joshi, Special Secretary Nandita Gopal, and Joint Secretary Devesh Dewal.
On this occasion, special publications showcasing technological breakthroughs in the food processing industry and success stories from the Startup Grant Challenge winners were unveiled, symbolizing a significant step towards nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship.
Participants engaged in discussions regarding practical strategies to boost processing capabilities, facilitate trade, enhance infrastructure, and promote entrepreneurship.
Industry representatives, startups, and other stakeholders shared their experiences and provided constructive feedback on policy reforms and investment prospects.
In a post on X, Chirag Paswan remarked: "Today, the inauguration of MoFPI's ‘Chintan Shivir’ was conducted in Udaipur. I informed the officials from the Centre, state representatives, and industry leaders that this camp is not merely a review program. It presents a valuable opportunity."
