Retailers are noting that the cut in GST rates has resulted in a clear decrease in prices, which has stimulated consumer demand and led to increased sales volumes.

Ashish Agarwal, a local seller of FMCG products in Raipur, shared with IANS that his sales have doubled compared to last Diwali. "The government has lowered taxes on everything from toothpaste to hair oil and baby diapers. As a result, people are purchasing more than ever," he stated.

In the automobile sector, Aditya Sen, a sales executive in Raipur, remarked that the revised GST rates have contributed to lower vehicle prices, leading to a rise in buyers. "Sales have surged dramatically, and the number of inquiries at showrooms has also spiked," he noted.

Residents have expressed similar views. Rajat pointed out that prices have significantly decreased since the GST reform, attracting large crowds to the markets. Ritvik Mishra commented, "After the GST rate reductions, shopping has increased tremendously. It has been nearly a month since the changes took effect, and this will significantly boost the economy."

Business owners report that the advantages are being directly passed on to consumers. A local wholesaler stated that the reduced GST has led to lower wholesale prices, and retailers are ensuring customers benefit fully. "We are witnessing a positive response from buyers," he remarked.

In Surajpur, a resident shared that he saved Rs 2,000 on a refrigerator due to the updated GST rates. “These savings even allowed me to purchase a new mixer,” he added with a sense of satisfaction.

Overall, the GST reform seems to be enhancing consumer confidence, revitalizing market activity, and injecting a festive energy into the economy ahead of the holiday season.
