Gujarat BJYM launches two statewide drives on careers and women's leadership
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Tuesday, 14 July 2025, unveiled two statewide campaigns — Yuva Disha-Darshan Samvad and Viksit Bharat Shakti Sampark Abhiyan-2026 — aimed at connecting young people across the state with career guidance, skill development, and women's leadership, as part of a broader organisational push aligned with the Viksit Bharat-2047 vision. The announcement was made at a full-day state-level meeting held at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state headquarters in Gandhinagar.
What the Two Campaigns Involve
Yuva Disha-Darshan Samvad will focus on career counselling, skill development, and awareness of emerging opportunities for youth. Interactions with subject experts are planned across colleges, universities, and educational institutions statewide to help students navigate career choices and future planning.
Viksit Bharat Shakti Sampark Abhiyan-2026 will seek to draw young women into active roles in leadership, public participation, and nation-building. The BJYM said both campaigns would be conducted in collaboration with educational institutions, youth organisations, social organisations, and experienced mentors from various sectors. Detailed implementation plans are to be announced separately.
Key Leaders and What They Said
The meeting was attended by Gujarat BJP state president Jagdish Vishwakarma, BJYM state president and Vadodara MP Dr Hemang Joshi, and BJYM state in-charge Kirit Patel, alongside state office-bearers, district and city presidents, and general secretaries.
Vishwakarma said, 'The true impact of the organisation is built through the identity of its workers, continuous public outreach, service and dedication to the organisation. Every worker should continuously travel across their area, develop close relations with different sections of society, bring new workers into the organisation and consistently strive to take the organisation's ideas to the people.'
Dr Joshi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had placed youth at the centre of the Viksit Bharat vision. 'Young people should not merely be witnesses to development, but active participants in development, agents of change and key architects of nation-building,' he said. He added that Yuva Disha-Darshan Samvad would connect youth with the right career guidance and skills, while Viksit Bharat Shakti Sampark Abhiyan-2026 would make young women across Gujarat 'active participants in leadership, public participation and the nation-building process.'
Patel guided workers on organising programmes under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the Mann Ki Baat initiative, and encouraged continued public outreach.
Study Tour: GIFT City and PDEU
The meeting was paired with a study tour introduced under the guidance of Vishwakarma, designed to give party workers practical exposure to development projects alongside organisational training. Workers visited Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) — described by the party as one of Prime Minister Modi's flagship projects — where they were briefed at the GIFT City Control and Command Centre on urban management systems, security arrangements, surveillance infrastructure, and the use of advanced technology in city administration.
The delegation also visited Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) to learn about developments in higher education, research, and the energy sector.
Organisational Focus and What Comes Next
Post the study tour, the meeting centred on strengthening the organisation, personality development of workers, and reinforcing the principle of 'Nation First'. The BJYM said its campaigns reflect an intent to build youth as active contributors to India's development trajectory, not passive observers.
With detailed implementation plans still to be announced, the ground-level rollout of both campaigns across Gujarat's districts will be the real measure of the initiative's reach.
