Ahmedabad, Oct 26 (NationPress) In anticipation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary and the significant National Unity Day festivities scheduled for October 30 and 31, a crucial review meeting was held under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay at the VVIP Circuit House in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat.
Comprehensive security and logistical measures are being organized in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the celebrations.
Upon his arrival, DGP Sahay received a Guard of Honour from police personnel and was greeted by senior officials from the police force, the Statue of Unity Range, and the district administration.
During the meeting, the DGP stressed the importance of ensuring the highest standards of security and cleanliness around the accommodation areas for VVIP guests, alongside guaranteeing the seamless execution of all plans pertaining to the Ekta Parade, the highlight of the festivities.
District Superintendent of Police Vishakha Dubey delivered a thorough PowerPoint presentation detailing the two-day deployment strategy, including the security framework, traffic management protocols, and transportation logistics for dignitaries and participants. The strategy also covered designated vehicle routes, parking provisions, and bus and car services to transport guests to the event site.
Officials from numerous departments—such as Roads and Buildings, Power, Fire Services, Health, Water Supply, Accommodation, and Tourism—were present in the meeting. They deliberated on arrangements for the lodging, meals, and transportation of VVIPs, trainees from the LBSNAA, and citizens anticipated to partake in the celebrations. The Tourism, Youth Services, and Cultural Activities Departments briefed attendees on forthcoming cultural performances and artist amenities.
Expressing satisfaction with the overall readiness, DGP Vikas Sahay commended the district administration and committee teams while recommending minor enhancements based on his previous inspection of the parade ground.
The meeting was attended by Vadodara Range IG Sandeep Singh, BSF Officer Bhupendra Singh, District Collector S.K. Modi, CEO of Statue of Unity Amit Arora, District Development Officer R.V.
