The accident occurred when a government Bolero vehicle transporting the police team crashed into the rear of a truck on the Bharatmala Highway, close to a petrol station near Sakta Khera village.

The victims have been identified as police constable Sunil Gamit, Home Guard Ravindra, and the private driver of the vehicle, Kanu Bhai Bharwad.

PSI J.P. Solanki, who was also a part of the vehicle, suffered severe injuries and is currently receiving urgent medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

This devastating event has left the Ahmedabad police force in shock. PSI Solanki is currently under intensive medical care, and updates regarding his condition are being awaited.

Senior officials have expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and have promised all possible assistance. The investigation will also explore whether factors like driver fatigue played a role in the accident.

However, a positive trend has emerged in Ahmedabad in 2024, with a noted decrease in road accidents and fatalities.
