Gandhinagar, Jan 1 (NationPress) The Gujarat government has initiated a significant reshuffle and promotion process within the state administration, empowering senior IAS and IPS officers from various batches. This announcement was made on the inaugural day of 2026 through an official notice from the General Administration Department (GAD).
According to the notice, five senior IAS officers of the 1996 batch have been elevated from Principal Secretary to Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). These individuals include Rajiv Topno in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Mona K. Khandhar in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Dr. T. Natarajan in the Finance Department, Mamta Verma in the Industries and Mines Department, and Mukesh Kumar in the Higher and Technical Education Department. Furthermore, the state government has approved the selection grade for 13 IAS officers of the 2013 batch, effective immediately.
Those serving as Chief Executive Officer of WASMO, along with Collectors from Bhavnagar, Navsari, Dahod, Kheda-Nadiad, and Gir Somnath, as well as the Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara, have been granted the selection grade.
Additionally, several Joint Secretaries and senior secretariat officers have been re-designated as Additional Secretaries following this approval.
The GAD has also promoted seven IAS officers from the 2010 batch to the Super Time Scale. Among those promoted are Anand Patel, Collector of Kutch-Bhuj, Sujit Kumar, Collector of Ahmedabad, Dr. Narendra Kumar Meena, Municipal Commissioner of Bhavnagar, Technical Education Commissioner B.H. Talati, Information Department Commissioner K.L. Bachchani, Patan Collector Tushar Y. Bhatt, and Dr. Hardik Shah, Private Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office.
Promotions were also made within the police cadre, with seven IPS officers of the 2013 batch elevated to Selection Grade (Level 13), featuring a pay matrix of Rs 2.15 lakh.
Promoted officers include personnel from the Ahmedabad City SOG and Economic Wing, CID Crime, Western Railway Cell, State Monitoring Cell, Vadodara Central Jail, along with Manish Singh, who is on central deputation.
Moreover, 14 IPS officers received additional promotions, including Narasimha Komar, while Dr. Vipul Agarwal advanced to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Dr. Rajkumar Pandian ascended to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
Several officers from the 2012 batch have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), with some officers also receiving new responsibilities, and inter-cadre deputation officers granted promotions in accordance with regulations.
