Gurugram: IndusInd Bank Assistant Manager Arrested for Financial Fraud

Gurugram, Nov 28 (NationPress) An assistant manager from IndusInd Bank has been taken into custody for defrauding an individual of Rs 35.69 lakh by falsely promising returns from stock market investments, as reported by the police.
Priyanshu Diwan, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for cybercrime, stated that the suspect has been identified as Harvinder Singh, who hails from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.
According to police records, a victim lodged a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station East on July 27, 2024, claiming he was scammed of Rs 35.69 lakh under the pretense of investing in the stock market.
Following the investigation, Inspector Amit Kumar, the Station House Officer of the police station, arrested the suspect on Wednesday. The accused was subsequently placed in police remand.
During questioning, the accused revealed that he was an employee at IndusInd Bank, located in the Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi. He has been with the bank since 2022. The account utilized for the fraudulent activities was opened in the name of a fictitious firm, in collusion with Yogender Bhati and Vikram Shahi. The accused received Rs 30,000 as compensation for this account.
Yogender and Vikram have already been apprehended in connection with this case.
"The accused supplied a bank account to cybercriminals using fraudulent documents, and in return, received Rs 30,000 as a commission in his account," Diwan mentioned.
The detained suspect is set to appear before the appropriate court for further legal proceedings, as stated by the police.
To date, a total of three individuals have been arrested in this case.
"The accused are currently on police remand for continued investigation," police officials reported.
So far, the Gurugram police have arrested 21 bank officials in the last six months for their alleged involvement in cyber fraud activities," Kumar remarked.
