New Delhi, Aug 12 (NationPress) A Har Ghar Tiranga Rally was launched on Tuesday from Delhi's Bharat Mandapam to inspire citizens to bring the Tricolour home and display it in honor of India's Independence Day.
The rally was inaugurated by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and a number of Members of Parliament.
In a statement to the media, CM Rekha Gupta remarked, "With slogans of 'Bharat Maa Ki Jai,' thousands of motorcycles, waving the Tricolour, embarked on their journey today, as the atmosphere resonated with chants in honor of Mother India."
"Today, everyone from MPs to our courageous soldiers is showcasing their patriotism. Even years post-independence, our affection for our nation continues to intensify with each passing year. I express my gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for bringing this national celebration to every home," she further stated.
She also conveyed her best wishes to the citizens for Independence Day.
Addressing the Opposition, the Chief Minister remarked, "Prior to 2014, did anyone observe such grand celebrations for Independence Day? Did anyone witness a Prime Minister carrying the Tricolour and chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'? Those who flaunt the Constitution will never proclaim 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'."
Earlier that day, CM Rekha Gupta, alongside Minister Ashish Sood, inaugurated the Tiranga Cyclothon for girls, which commenced from Vidhan Sabha to Rajghat.
During the event, she stated, "The daughters of Delhi are taking part in this cycling event, the cyclothon. I view this initiative as a new journey and a fresh chapter for the daughters of Delhi. Thousands of these girls are present here to propel our nation forward."
"The Delhi government is committed to securing a promising future for the daughters of Delhi. As we approach Independence Day, I extend my warm wishes to all these daughters who have come forward to aid in the nation's advancement," the Chief Minister concluded.
Over the past three years, the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative has developed into a grassroots movement, with citizens from diverse backgrounds embracing the concept and showcasing their support through active participation in both online and offline activities nationwide.
