Chandigarh, Nov 11 (NationPress) - The government of Haryana has officially announced a significant change regarding the upper age limit for ex-Agniveers who are residents of the state. This modification applies to direct recruitment opportunities following their military service.
A formal communication regarding this decision has been released by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
Under the new policy, ex-Agniveers will enjoy a three-year relaxation in the prescribed upper age limit for Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ recruitment.
Moreover, the first batch of ex-Agniveers will benefit from a five-year age relaxation. An official statement emphasized that all relevant departments, boards, and field offices must adhere to these directives.
Previously, the government had introduced the concept of horizontal reservation for resident ex-Agniveers in state recruitment processes.
This policy aims to provide specific reservations across various state services for ex-Agniveers.
According to the new guidelines, ex-Agniveers will receive a one percent horizontal reservation in Group-B positions tied to skill expertise and five percent in Group-C roles (with certain exclusions).
In the Home Department, a 20 percent reservation will be allocated for police constable posts. Additionally, a 10 percent reservation has been established for roles such as forest guards, jail warders, and mining guards.
To maintain equitable opportunities among all social categories, reservations will be enforced at predetermined roster points. Selections will prioritize merit, with ex-Agniveers filling reserved posts within their respective vertical categories. Should there be a shortage of suitable ex-Agniveers, the vacancies will be filled by qualified candidates from the relevant category.
