Chandigarh, June 18 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is making strides towards creating a “Yoga Yukt, Nasha Mukt Haryana” by aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” in celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day.

As part of this initiative, over 20 lakh individuals from across the state are set to engage in yoga sessions on June 21.

An official spokesperson revealed that yoga programs will be conducted in all 22 districts and 121 blocks throughout the state on June 21, bringing more than 20 lakh residents together for yoga practice. To date, over 12.10 lakh participants have registered via the online portal to join.

The main event at the state level will take place at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, where Chief Minister Saini and other distinguished guests will join thousands of practitioners, alongside yoga guru Swami Ramdev.

This year’s theme for Yoga Day emphasizes yoga's significance in enhancing physical, mental, and environmental wellness, resonating with the global call for unity and sustainability, as stated by the spokesperson.

Furthermore, to enhance grassroots yoga practice, the state government aims to establish 1,000 Vyayamshalas (gymnasiums) in rural regions, with 714 already completed and 877 AYUSH yoga assistants appointed. Special yoga activities will also take place in these Vyayamshalas on June 21.
