Shimla, Feb 15 (NationPress) The Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh legislative Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, announced on Sunday that the 11th Budget session of the 14th legislative Assembly and the fourth Budget session of the current government will officially begin on Monday with an address from Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
Pathania mentioned that the initial phase of the session is planned for three days, although it may be prolonged.
So far, 125 notices for questions have been submitted by members, including 111 starred and 14 unstarred questions. The questions submitted online have also been forwarded to the government for action in accordance with established rules.
In addition to the questions, two notices under Rule 62 and Rule 101 have been received online and sent to the government for further processing, the Speaker stated.
The inquiries from members primarily focus on the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi, a state-sponsored social security pension scheme for women, the merger of schools, road and bridge construction, detailed project reports on roads, upgrading colleges, schools, and health facilities, as well as filling vacant positions across various departments. Other issues include the rising drug abuse among youth, increasing criminal activities, solar energy initiatives, and transport systems.
Moreover, the members have brought attention to significant issues affecting their respective constituencies through their questions.
To facilitate a seamless and effective session, Speaker Pathania convened an all-party meeting just hours prior to the session's commencement, with participation expected from the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, the Deputy Chief Whip, and the Chief Whip.
In a related development, Speaker Pathania met with Governor Shukla at Lok Bhavan on Sunday. An official statement indicated that it was a courtesy call, during which the Speaker formally invited the Governor to the session.
