Alongside this event, he will also kick off the Sadbhawana Cycle Rally, as announced by the government on Tuesday.

The state administration has approached the Ministry of Defence for permission to promote tourism in border regions such as Lepcha, Shipki-La, Giu, and Rani Kanda. Tourists wishing to visit these scenic border areas will now be required to present their Aadhar cards to local authorities.

These efforts are anticipated to significantly boost tourism in these border regions, providing economic benefits to local communities.

Previously, a meeting was convened with senior military officials on April 19 regarding these initiatives.

During a high-level meeting with officers from the Indian Army and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the Chief Minister urged the acceleration of road development projects to maximize benefits for those living near the international border.

He also plans to discuss the establishment of the Himachal Scouts Battalion with the central government. This specialized unit, primarily composed of local youth familiar with the terrain, is expected to significantly bolster operational readiness in border areas.

Additionally, he aims to advocate for the construction of an airport at Rangreek in the Spiti Valley to further enhance tourism.

The Chief Minister reviewed several ongoing road projects, pledging the government's full support to the BRO. He emphasized that the Nithalthach-Harshil road project would be prioritized as a strategically important initiative to improve connectivity between Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand, thereby promoting tourism and commerce.

He instructed the BRO to hasten the Sansari-Killar-Thirot-Tandi road project, ensuring better connectivity for residents in these regions. Currently, 35% of this project is complete, and he urged for its expedited operationalization.

Furthermore, Lieutenant General G.D. Mishra, the General Officer Commanding (Uttar Bharat Area), informed the Chief Minister about the Army's plans to set up an apple processing plant and conduct a medical camp for cataract surgeries in June, aimed at benefiting residents of border communities.
