Observed annually on September 14, Hindi Diwas honors the adoption of Hindi as one of India's official languages. This date is historically significant, as in 1949, the Constituent Assembly achieved consensus on the framework for official languages during the Constitution's drafting.

"Warm wishes on Hindi Diwas! Hindi acts as a bridge among the nation’s languages and dialects, enhancing national unity and evolving into the language of technology, science, and research," he posted on X.
"From the freedom struggle to the trying times of the Emergency, Hindi has been instrumental in uniting the citizens of our nation. Hindi will persist in playing a vital role in creating a 'Viksit' and linguistically 'Atmanirbhar' India by integrating all languages," he added.
The Union Defence Minister also took to social media to underscore the cultural and emotional significance of the language.
"Warm greetings to all citizens on Hindi Diwas. Hindi transcends being just a language; it is a profound expression of our national consciousness, cultural identity, and emotional unity. From the freedom struggle to today, Hindi has been pivotal in uniting the nation. Let's commit to preserving and promoting Hindi and all Indian languages; this commitment will fortify our nation," he posted.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar characterized Hindi as a key element of the world’s increasing interest in India.
"Warm wishes on Hindi Diwas. Hindi is a crucial facet of the growing global intrigue in our culture and traditions. Special congratulations to all linguists and Hindi advocates engaged in promoting and disseminating the Hindi language globally," he wrote on X.
