Srinagar, March 6 (NationPress) In a remarkable achievement for Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 16 candidates from the Union Territory have successfully secured a place in the final selection list of the All India Civil Services Examination 2025 as announced on Friday.

Celebrations erupted in the homes and communities of these 16 achievers, marking a significant milestone in their pursuit of public service.

Among the selected candidates, Suvan Sharma attained the 148th rank, followed by Towseef Ahmad Ganie at 254th, Ritika at 456th, Sooyash Shivam at 572nd, Muneeb Parrah at 581st, Ghulam Din at 683rd, Dwarka Gaadhi at 721st, Akash at 747th, Koh-E-Safa at 763rd, Yasaar at 811th, Abhishek at 820th, Pankaj at 856th, Mohd Ajaz at 869th, Azhar at 886th, Sarfraz at 936th, and Irfan Ahmad Lone (a differently-abled candidate) at 957th.

This is the first instance where 16 candidates from Jammu and Kashmir have reached the final selection list for this prestigious national examination.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended a total of 958 candidates for various appointments, including the IAS, IFS, and IPS.

The results were released following the written examination conducted in August 2025, with personality test interviews occurring between December 2025 and February 2026.

Among the recommended candidates, there are those selected for the IAS, IFS, IPS, and numerous central services categorized under Group-A and Group-B.

In a proud moment for Rajasthan, Anuj Agnihotri, a doctor from Kota, has achieved the top rank in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 in his third attempt.

Official statistics reveal that the selection comprises candidates from various categories: 317 from the general category, 104 from economically weaker sections, 306 from other backward classes, 158 from scheduled castes, and 73 from scheduled tribes.

The commission has also established a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates in line with examination regulations.

The state government has reported a total of 1,087 vacancies for this examination cycle across different services.

This includes 180 vacancies in the IAS, 55 in the IFS, 150 in the IPS, 507 in Central Services Group-A, and 195 in Group-B services.

Officials have stated that the claims of the recommended candidates regarding reservation categories will be verified by the relevant authorities.

Additionally, the candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been marked as provisional, while the results for two candidates have been withheld.

The Civil Services Examination administered by the UPSC is recognized as one of the country's most competitive assessments, serving as a primary gateway for recruitment into India’s top administrative and diplomatic services.
