Chandigarh, Oct 1 (NationPress) The arrangements for Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah's impending visit to Haryana on October 3 have been finalized, as confirmed by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday.
HM Shah is scheduled to participate in various events in Kurukshetra and Rohtak throughout his one-day itinerary. CM Saini mentioned that the government is dedicated to enhancing cooperative societies aimed at improving the welfare of farmers.
“The cooperative societies had lost farmers' trust during the Congress era, but our government is committed to regaining that trust. We will initiate the enrollment of new members shortly, with online provisions to ensure farmers access benefits promptly,” the Chief Minister stated during a media briefing.
Addressing a query about the Congress leadership’s choice to name former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the Leader of the Opposition, the Chief Minister congratulated both Hooda and Rahul Gandhi, while questioning the delay in the decision, asking why it took so long if the intention was solely to appoint Hooda.
In a critical remark about the Congress, CM Saini pointed out that their policies are flawed and indicate a lack of genuine concern for public welfare.
In response to further inquiries, he remarked that Congress has historically been plagued by factionalism and internal conflicts. He juxtaposed this with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the Prime Minister has consistently empowered the underprivileged, unlike Congress and the INDIA bloc, which seem more focused on self-advancement.
Furthermore, CM Saini announced the release of Rs 404.79 crore as the second installment of the state Finance Commission's grant to Panchayati Raj Institutions, which significantly bolsters rural development.
This amount will be deposited directly into the accounts of 5,719 Gram Panchayats, 144 Panchayat Samitis, and three Zila Parishads, providing vital support for development initiatives and enhancing public services at the grassroots level.
