Indore, June 19 (NationPress) A Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Meghalaya Police arrived in Indore on Tuesday to delve into the ongoing inquiry into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Since their arrival, they have interrogated approximately 20 individuals, including family members of Sonam and Raj Kushwaha.
In addition to questioning family, the Meghalaya Police also visited the plywood factory of Govind Raghuvanshi, Sonam's brother, where employees known to Sonam and Raj Kushwaha, the main suspects in Raja's murder, were interrogated.
During the interrogation of the arrested suspects—Sonam, her alleged partner Raj Kushwaha, and three of his associates—it was revealed that they had discussed their criminal plan in a restaurant situated in the Super Corridor area of Indore.
The restaurant owner, where the planning allegedly took place, is now considered to be 'under suspicion'.
In an interview with IANS on Thursday, he stated that he learned of the high-profile murder through news articles.
"Many customers frequent my restaurant daily, making it hard to recall them. There is a corner where people tend to linger for extended periods. We merely take their orders and serve them," restaurant owner Jai Soni explained.
When asked if Meghalaya or Indore police had visited for inquiries, he replied: "Not yet." He further stated, "We will assist if they choose to come here. This incident has shamed the entire city of Indore. We will provide them with CCTV footage."
On Wednesday, the Meghalaya Police team visited Sonam Raghuvanshi's home, the primary suspect in her husband Raja's murder, and questioned her family regarding the investigation.
They also visited Raja Raghuvanshi's residence and spoke with his family members, including his mother, on Tuesday evening.
During a half-hour discussion, the Meghalaya Police inquired about Sonam's conduct while staying at Raja's home for three days.
It is noteworthy that Raja and Sonam were married on May 11 in Indore, and she stayed at his home until May 13. Sonam returned to her parental house on June 14, and the couple departed for their honeymoon in Meghalaya on May 21.
