New Delhi, Jan 15 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday offered heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Army as the nation commemorates Army Day, marking a day dedicated to honoring the bravery, commitment, and ultimate sacrifice of the soldiers who serve with unwavering dedication.

In her address, the President noted that the Indian Army has consistently maintained the highest standards of professionalism, dedication, and valor, whether it involves protecting the nation’s borders or assisting during natural calamities.

She also commended the Army’s remarkable achievements during Operation Sindoor.

“I extend my warm wishes to the Indian Army on this significant occasion of Army Day 2026. This day serves to honor the courage, dedication, and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers who remain unwavering in their service to the nation. The Indian Army is central to India’s national security,” President Murmu stated in her address.

“It has continuously upheld the highest values of professionalism, commitment, and valor in safeguarding our borders and providing aid during natural disasters. I commend the Indian Army for its gallant efforts and remarkable success in Operation Sindoor, ” she added.

The President expressed her belief that the Indian Army will persist in its vital role in nation-building and contribute to economic advancement and inclusive growth.

Honoring the soldiers, she reiterated the nation’s profound gratitude towards the force and extended her heartfelt wishes for ongoing success and strength in fulfilling their duties.

“I am confident that the Indian Army will uphold its legacy in contributing to nation-building and fostering economic growth and inclusive development. I salute our soldiers and reaffirm the nation’s enduring gratitude towards the Indian Army, wishing all ranks continued success, strength, and glory in their noble endeavors,” President Murmu remarked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his respects to the Army on this occasion, honoring its bravery and unwavering commitment.

In a post shared on X, he expressed, “On Army Day, we salute the courage and steadfast commitment of the Indian Army. Our soldiers symbolize selfless service, protecting the nation with unwavering resolve, often under the most challenging situations. Their sense of duty inspires confidence and gratitude throughout the country.”

The Prime Minister further acknowledged the ultimate sacrifices made by soldiers in their line of duty, stating, “We remember with deep respect those who have fallen while serving our nation.”
