New Delhi, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered heartfelt tributes to members of the armed forces in celebration of Army Day, honoring their sacrifices and commending their steadfast bravery and selfless dedication to the nation.

In a post on X, Singh shared, "Wishing our courageous Indian Army personnel and their families a proud Army Day. Our nation admires their undaunted bravery, supreme sacrifices, and unwavering dedication to protecting India’s sovereignty and integrity."

He remarked, "Always alert at our borders and resolute in times of crisis, the Indian Army has garnered international respect due to its professionalism, discipline, and humanitarian efforts."

Singh further stated, "Our Government is wholeheartedly devoted to developing a modern, Atmanirbhar, and future-ready Army. A grateful nation stands united in admiration and respect for its soldiers."

Since 1949, Army Day has been celebrated annually to honor the day when General K.M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.

This year, the main Army Day Parade is notably being held on a public urban route along Mahal Road in Jaipur, marking a significant shift from traditional military cantonments.

The Defence Minister is present at the celebrations in Jaipur.

The Sapta Shakti Command, also recognized as the South Western Command, is tasked with managing an estimated crowd of nearly eight lakh civilians in Jaipur on this day.

This grand event is organized similarly to the Republic Day celebrations, aiming to strengthen the emotional and patriotic connection between the armed forces and the youth while allowing unrestricted public access to the parade.

This year’s central theme, 'Year of Networking and Data Centricity', emphasizes the Indian Army’s transition toward advanced digitalization, secure modern communication networks, and data-driven decision-making systems to address contemporary warfare demands.
