New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi stated on Tuesday that India can take pride in the advancements achieved in the realm of security by 2025, emphasizing that Operation Sindoor showcased India's readiness, precision, and strategic clarity.
He highlighted that India's steadfast reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack exemplified the current global reality that "nations that stay prepared, prevail".
During the Indian Army's annual press briefing, General Dwivedi conveyed greetings for Lohri, Veterans' Day, and Army Day, while commending the Indian media for playing a "crucial role" in linking the Indian Army with the populace, citing the "patriotic and enthusiastic"Operation Sindoor as an illustration.
The previous year witnessed a marked increase in global armed conflicts. These international dynamics underscore a straightforward truth -- nations that stay prepared prevail. In this context, Operation Sindoor, India's measured and determined response to cross-border terrorism, demonstrated our readiness, precision, and strategic clarity,
he stated.
The Army chief indicated that through various initiatives as part of 'JAI -- Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, Innovation', a clarion call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2025, and the Indian Army's transformative decade, "we can be justifiably very satisfied with the progress made during the year 2025".
He added that the situation along the North-western Front "remains stable, but needs constant vigilance", mentioning that high-level discussions, renewed interactions, and confidence-building measures are aiding in the "gradual normalization" of conditions, which has also facilitated grazing, hydrotherapy camps, and other activities along the Northern Borders.
With our sustained strategic focus in this area, our positioning along the Line of Actual Control remains balanced and robust. Simultaneously, capability development and infrastructure improvement are advancing through a comprehensive government approach.
General Dwivedi, commenting on the Western Front, recalled India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack, asserting that a "clear decision to respond decisively was made at the highest level".
"Operation Sindoor was planned and executed with precision. Through 22 minutes of initiation on May 7 and an orchestration that continued for 88 hours until May 10, the operation reset strategic assumptions by striking deep, dismantling terror infrastructure, and challenging the persistent nuclear rhetoric," he explained.
"The Army successfully eliminated seven out of the nine targets and subsequently played a crucial role in ensuring a calibrated response to Pakistani actions," he remarked.
The Army chief reiterated that "Operation Sindoor is ongoing, and any future misadventure will be met with a resolute response".
He also recognized the "proactive role" of all stakeholders at the national level, including CAPFs, Intelligence agencies, civic bodies, state administration, and other ministries, such as MHA, MEITY, and Railways.
"Operation Sindoor served as the best example of tri-service synergy under clear political directives and complete freedom to act or respond," he concluded.
