A large-scale Jat Reservation Hunkar Sabha is set to take place at Numaish Ground in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, on Monday, 23 June 2025, as the long-pending demand for Central OBC reservation for the Jat community gains fresh momentum in eastern Rajasthan. Hanuman Beniwal, National President of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Member of Parliament from Nagaur, is among the prominent leaders confirmed to attend.

What the Rally Demands

The gathering, organised by the Jat Reservation Struggle Committee, is specifically focused on securing OBC reservation at the Central government level for Jat communities residing in the Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Deeg districts of Rajasthan. Beniwal confirmed his participation and stated that the rally would serve as a platform to press this long-standing demand before the Centre.

Community leaders contend that despite repeated assurances from successive governments, the reservation demand for Jats in these districts has not been fulfilled. The struggle, they say, has been ongoing for years without a resolution.

Scale and Mobilisation

Organisers have claimed that nearly one lakh people could participate in the Hunkar Sabha. The turnout is expected to draw Jat community members not just from across Rajasthan but also from neighbouring states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

Mobilisation for the event has followed the traditional practice of distributing 'peele chawal' (yellow rice) in villages across the four states — a customary method of extending community invitations in the region. According to Committee Convener Nem Singh Faujdar, elaborate logistical arrangements have been put in place, including a large dome structure, drinking water facilities, medical assistance, and ambulance services.

Security and Administration

With the prospect of a massive turnout, the Bharatpur district administration has heightened security and monitoring arrangements ahead of the event. The scale of mobilisation has drawn administrative attention to crowd management and law and order at the venue.

Faujdar said the gathering would not only voice the community's concerns but also help formulate the future strategy of the reservation movement.
