Immediate Cessation of Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh Urged by Hosabale

New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has vehemently denounced the persistent violence and atrocities inflicted upon the Hindu minority in Bangladesh by Islamic extremist groups.

In a statement released on Saturday, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale emphasized the alarming increase in attacks, murders, looting, arson, and inhumane acts, particularly targeting women within the Hindu community. He called for immediate measures to stop these violations.

Dattatreya Hosabale expressed profound concern regarding the inaction of the Bangladesh government, stating, “Instead of implementing decisive actions to restrain these attacks, the current Bangladesh government and other responsible entities choose to remain silent. This indifference has empowered the offenders, leading to a new era of injustice and cruelty aimed at stifling the democratic voices of the Hindu community seeking self-defense.”

The RSS leader particularly condemned the incarceration of ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, a notable figure advocating for Hindu rights in Bangladesh through peaceful demonstrations.

“It is profoundly unjust for the Bangladesh government to imprison a non-violent activist like Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das, whose only crime is striving to galvanize a peaceful movement for the safety and dignity of Hindus,” Hosabale asserted.

The RSS called upon both the Bangladesh government and the international community to take prompt and resolute action.

He remarked, “The RSS urges the Bangladeshi government to put an end to all atrocities against Hindus, ensure justice for the victims, and release Chinmoy Krishna Das without delay. The RSS also appeals to the Government of India to intensify efforts to protect the rights of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.”

It also called on the global community and institutions to support the victims, as this is crucial for world peace and the spirit of brotherhood.

According to the latest reports, three Hindu temples in Chattogram, Bangladesh, were vandalized by a mob shouting slogans, amidst ongoing protests and violence in the region on Friday.

A group of several hundred individuals, after attending Friday prayers, descended upon the temples, throwing bricks and causing damage to the Shoni Temple and the gates of the other two temples, the report indicated.

The unrest has been escalating in Chattogram since the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was detained on charges of disrespecting the Bangladesh national flag. The protests and unrest surrounding his arrest have heightened tensions in the region.
