Meerut, June 27 (NationPress) Two individuals were apprehended for making derogatory remarks concerning female constables in the Nauchandi Mela region of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut.
The suspects, named Aman Saifi and Sameer Saifi, hail from Zakir Colony.
They recorded a video of the female constables in uniform and issued inappropriate comments.
Shortly thereafter, they shared the video on social media, where it quickly gained traction. The viral clip incited public outrage, leading Hindu organizations to demand the swift arrest of the suspects.
Social media was abuzz, calling for prompt action against the offenders.
The police acted on a complaint filed by the leader of a Hindu organization, Sachin Sirohi.
A case was registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Following orders from the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), an investigation was initiated, resulting in the arrest of the accused.
At the police station, the suspects were made to do sit-ups. They later apologized, holding their ears and vowing to treat women as maternal and sisterly figures.

The SP mentioned that the main suspect in this case, Adil, is currently on the run.
The SP confirmed that Aman and Sameer would be presented before the court.
Two police teams have been organized to apprehend Adil, who will be caught soon, the SP added.
