Meerut, April 28 (NationPress) - In a significant development, the Meerut Police and the SWAT team have apprehended a notorious criminal, Parvez Alam, who is alleged to have executed over 200 robbery incidents across various districts, including Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Meerut.
The arrest occurred following a brief confrontation, during which Alam was injured and is now hospitalized. Law enforcement has initiated an extensive interrogation. This arrest follows a viral video capturing Alam snatching a gold chain from a doctor during his morning exercise, resulting in the victim's fall as Alam fled on a motorcycle.
Over the past 11 years, Parvez Alam has established a notorious reputation. With more than 113 criminal cases filed against him, he is considered one of the most sought-after robbers in the area. Following the encounter, police informed the media that Alam had turned looting into a full-time profession, investing in high-end motorcycles specifically for his criminal activities, often targeting vulnerable women and the elderly on secluded streets.
His brazen acts and extravagant lifestyle were financed by his illicit activities. Allegedly, he used the proceeds from his crimes to acquire luxury vehicles and live lavishly. In one of his recent robberies, Alam was captured on CCTV while robbing a doctor, which proved instrumental in his capture.
In addition to Alam, authorities also detained a jeweler named Ankur Saini, who was known to purchase stolen jewelry from him. During the operation, police seized Rs 1 lakh in cash, a substantial amount of gold and silver ornaments, a motorcycle, and a homemade firearm.
“Parvez Alam has been a societal menace for over a decade. His capture represents a significant victory for us. We will now take further legal action and work to dismantle his network,” stated Ayush Vikram Singh, SP City, Meerut.
This operation marks a notable success for the Nauchandi Police and the SWAT team, effectively ending the lengthy criminal spree of a man who had made a career out of preying on innocent individuals.
