New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) Two individuals engaged in snatching activities, one of whom is a minor, were captured by authorities, leading to the recovery of stolen items in Delhi's Central district.
The suspects have been named as 22-year-old Atharv, residing in Katra Fazilpur, Daryaganj, and a 16-year-old minor. This minor is classified as a CCL (child in conflict with law) and lives in Katra Hawaspur, Daryaganj, Delhi, according to police reports.
Atharv, the primary suspect, currently faces three separate charges at police stations in Kotwali, Chandni Mahal, and Daryaganj in the capital.
In response to a complaint regarding a mobile phone theft, the Daryaganj Police initiated an investigation, filing a case under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A collaborative effort involving the police and the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) analyzed CCTV recordings, which ultimately led to the suspects' arrest on August 1.
Authorities recovered the stolen mobile phone and a scooty utilized in the crime, which took place on July 30.
During questioning, both suspects admitted their involvement in the crime, as stated by Central District DCP Nidhin Valsan on Saturday.
Previously, in July, the Delhi Police arrested a couple involved in a chain snatching incident.
