India Achieves Remarkable Advancements in Drone Technology Over the Past Six Years: Surveyor General

Bhopal, Dec 24 (NationPress) India has achieved remarkable advancements in drone technology over the last six years, as stated by the Surveyor General of India, Hitesh Kumar Makwana, during a recent workshop.

While addressing attendees, Makwana highlighted that the Central Government has formulated a drone policy aimed at promoting the extensive utilization of drone technology.

Drones have transformed from having a limited range of applications to becoming versatile tools widely used across various sectors.

According to him, the government has set ambitious goals for creating a comprehensive ecosystem centered around drone technology, establishing essential rules, licensing procedures, and operational timelines for drone usage.

"When we refer to drones, we are discussing more than just a flying camera; we are talking about a transformative technology capable of delivering services across multiple levels. The potential for this technology to be widely applied in the state could significantly enhance facilities for citizens," he remarked.

He emphasized that the government has taken proactive steps to foster an environment where drones can be widely utilized across diverse fields.

"This initiative will significantly contribute to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India," Makwana added.

During the workshop at Bhopal's Kushabhau Thakre auditorium, he also noted that Madhya Pradesh is taking significant strides toward becoming a leader in drone technology.

"Madhya Pradesh stands out as a frontrunner in the adoption of drone technology. The state has made notable progress by leveraging drone technology to implement the Swamitva Yojana. This technology is efficient, accessible, and cost-effective," he stated.

Additionally, Sanjay Dubey, the Additional Chief Secretary for Science and Technology, highlighted the steps Madhya Pradesh is taking to promote the use of drone technology, mentioning that the state government has initiated plans to establish manufacturing units.

"Madhya Pradesh is committed to the practical and beneficial application of drones at the regional level. Our goal is to cultivate a robust and holistic ecosystem in the state. The adoption of drone technology is not merely an option but a necessity for the future," Dube asserted.

During the event, a drone-focused information portal was also introduced, which will serve as a valuable resource for integrating information related to drone technology, policy, and training.
