New Delhi, June 10 (NationPress) Manindra Agrawal, the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, expressed on Tuesday that India is poised to become one of the world's leading nations in the upcoming five years, attributing this potential to substantial advancements made over the past 11 years.
In an interview with IANS, he detailed the advancements in critical areas such as education, space exploration, and drone technology.
"We are progressing as a nation. I firmly believe that within the next four to five years, there is a strong possibility for India to rank among the leading countries globally," Agrawal stated.
He highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in the past decade, noting the establishment of new educational institutions and several IITs that have provided quality education to numerous students.
Referencing successful space missions like Chandrayaan-3, he remarked that "ISRO has accomplished significant feats that will be remembered for years to come."
Moreover, he noted the Union government's support for numerous startups in the space sector.
"By granting startups access to ISRO's facilities, we have nurtured countless space initiatives," Agrawal mentioned.
The Director of IIT Kanpur also emphasized India's rapid progress in drone technology.
"We are advancing swiftly in the drone sector. In recent years, numerous startups have emerged in this field, and we have witnessed their contributions in initiatives like Operation Sindoor," Agrawal added.
