New Delhi, Nov 21 (NationPress) Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Sibi George, engaged in discussions with Belen Martinez Carbonell, the Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), at the EU headquarters in Brussels.
The meeting focused on the significant progress in the India-EU partnership and assessed advancements on the Joint India-EU Comprehensive Strategic Agenda in anticipation of the forthcoming India-EU Summit.
According to an update from the MEA posted on X, “Secretary (West) Sibi George had a fruitful discussion with Belen Martinez Carbonell, emphasizing the strong momentum of the India-EU Strategic Partnership. He briefed her on the extensive dialogues with the EEAS regarding foreign policy, security, and the strategic partnership review. They also reviewed the progress on the Joint India-EU Comprehensive Strategic Agenda leading up to the next India-EU Summit.
Last week, the two entities convened for the 9th High-Level Dialogue on Migration and Mobility (HLDMM) in New Delhi, expressing satisfaction with the successful implementation of the India-EU Common Agenda on Migration and Mobility (India-EU CAMM).
As reported by the MEA, both sides reviewed initiatives outlined in the Joint Communication titled “A New Strategic India-EU Agenda,” which was adopted by the EU Council in September 2025. They reaffirmed the significance of migration and mobility as essential elements of their strategic partnership and exchanged insights on further initiatives to maximize cooperation in this sector.
Earlier this month, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar met with Kaja Kallas, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in Niagara, Canada, during the G7 Foreign Ministers Meeting. Their discussions focused on enhancing the India-EU Strategic Partnership.
“I was pleased to meet EU HRVP Kaja Kallas in Niagara today. Our discussions centered on strengthening the India-EU Strategic Partnership and sharing insights on the G7 FMM agenda,” Jaishankar tweeted.
