Rishikesh, December 15 (NationPress) The President of Parmarth Niketan, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that just as Gujarat evolved into a beacon of development under his guidance, India is now progressively establishing itself as a model nation.
During a tribute to Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary, Swami Chidanand Saraswati remarked that the Ganga Aarti conducted at Parmarth Niketan alongside the Ganga in Rishikesh was dedicated to the 'Iron Man of India.' He noted that both Sardar Patel and Prime Minister Modi share roots in Gujarat, indicating that their leadership has been pivotal in molding the nation.
In a conversation with IANS, Swami Chidanand Saraswati referred to Sardar Patel, recognized as the 'Lion of Gujarat', as a monumental figure whose contributions to national unity are unparalleled.
"If Sardar Patel had been the nation’s first Prime Minister, the landscape of India would have looked remarkably different," he remarked.
Reflecting on Prime Minister Modi's previous role as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he noted how PM Modi transformed the state's future amidst considerable challenges, criticisms, and pressures, particularly during crises like the Godhra incident.
"He instilled confidence and clarity, fostering stability and security, and fashioned Gujarat into a model that harmonizes development with heritage. This journey continues to this day," he explained.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati emphasized that India’s economy has witnessed remarkable progress over the last 11 years. "What led to this? It's Prime Minister Modi's determination, integrity, and transparency. He embodies the relentless flow of the Ganga. This is why Gujarat set the precedent, and now India is following suit," he stated.
He underscored the Prime Minister's spiritual foundation, asserting that PM Modi's path has always been intertwined with spirituality.
"Upon returning from the Himalayas, he dedicated his youth to the community, merging self-discipline with service. His belief in Sanatan values and saints remains steadfast," he said.
Giving examples, Swami Chidanand Saraswati pointed to initiatives like the Kashi Corridor, Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, the restoration of Kedarnath, and the growth of Ayodhya as manifestations of this union of spirituality and nation-building.
He remarked that Prime Minister Modi frequently presents the Bhagavad Gita to global leaders and invites foreign dignitaries to experience the Ganga Aarti.
"He strikes a balance between secular governance and spiritual roots, ensuring a connection with India's cultural and religious heritage. When we have distanced ourselves from our roots and values, we have been weakened. Division has led to our diminishment," Swami Chidanand Saraswati asserted.
He expressed that Prime Minister Modi has successfully integrated development and heritage with Sanatan principles. Reflecting on a previous discussion, he noted that PM Modi's commitment and sincerity were evident even when he held no official position and operated merely as a party member.
A new wave of Sanatan ideals is sweeping across the nation, he stated.
"Sanatan signifies unity in diversity -- Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah. Today, alongside the Hanuman Chalisa, the world is also chanting what can be termed a 'Hindustan Chalisa,'" he commented.
He further noted that PM Modi's integrity, commitment, dedication, relentless work ethic, and vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' distinguish him.
"He celebrates Diwali with the soldiers safeguarding our borders. That alone is remarkable," he remarked.
Humming a line in admiration of the Prime Minister, Swami Chidanand Saraswati expressed: "Kabhi kabhi mere dil me khayal aata hai, tumhe zameen par utaara gaya hai Bharat ke liye (sometimes I feel in my heart that you have been sent to this Earth for India)."
