During a session in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, he revealed that India is also providing various railway components such as propulsion systems and bogies or underframes to several European nations including France, Spain, Germany, and Italy.

"Currently, metro coaches are being exported from our nation to Australia. The mechanical structure beneath the locomotive and coaches, referred to as bogies or underframes, are being exported to the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, France, and Australia. Additionally, the propulsion system, a crucial component of power electronics, is now being exported to France, Mexico, Romania, Spain, Germany, and Italy. This is indeed a source of great pride," Minister Vaishnaw stated during the Railways Budget discussion.

He also emphasized that 'Made in India' locomotives and passenger coaches are being sent to Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

"In the near future, the Marhowra Factory in Bihar will export over 100 locomotives. Furthermore, forged wheels will also be shipped from Tamil Nadu," he added.

The minister noted that the Bihar factory, initially proposed by Lalu Prasad during his tenure as railway minister, gained momentum following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership starting in 2014.

According to the minister, Indian Railways is not just offering safe and high-quality services to passengers at reasonable fares but is also establishing a unique identity on the global stage.

He pointed out that Indian Railways is providing increased subsidies to passengers, as the travel cost per kilometer by train is Rs 1.38, but passengers are only charged 73 paise, resulting in a 47 percent subsidy.

Moreover, the minister mentioned that Indian Railways has become much safer, with a significant decline in the number of accidents occurring on the national transporter.
